about

The third release of the thru the cosmos series, pallas/perseids celebrates some of the most sensational astronomical events
that occur in the summer night sky. Variant returns with yet another inspired approach to capturing cosmic happenings
and emulating them into a sonic world that is both explorative and imaginative. Just as they occur over eons, Pallas/Perseids unfold before our eyes in full activity, most visible late July/early August and can be experienced by simply looking up to the heavens. Underneath dark skies, light unfolds when watching its glorious splendor raining down into the earth's atmosphere. Icey bodies such as Comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle (the origin of Perseids) and Pallas ( roughly the 2nd largest known asteroid in the Universe to date) remind us of "the most quintessential spirit in its purest form."

For all those who loved Variant's first-ever published project, "Falling Stars," (the original recordings date back to 1994) and just about everything Variant has released, there is much to love and enjoy here. A complete masterpiece paying homage to great thinkers dating as far back as platonic/neoplatonic times of whom interests stem from the quest to connect with the Celestine.

Special thanks to Forshaw for introducing us to another time, and to Procleus who fervently states, " down from every star ... there hangs a series of things."
